2010 Calendar of Eye Care Events

Article Outline

Now is a good time for optometrists to map out a comprehensive and detailed marketing and public outreach plan for the coming year. In many cases, practitioners may find it advantageous to participate in national eye and vision care awareness campaigns.

The American Optometric Association (AOA) Communications Group urges AOA members to promote the importance of regular optometric eye and vision care by participating in some or all of the observances listed here. The AOA supports individual promotion and participation by optometrists locally regardless of whether the observance is AOA-sponsored. In many cases, the AOA Communications Group can offer materials appropriate for the observance. For additional information, contact the AOA Public Relations Department at 800-365-2219, ext. 4263 or by e-mail at publicrelations@aoa.org.
